LA LIGA GIANTS ’ PRESIDENT CONFIRMS DESIRE TO SIGN KEY CHELSEA STAR.

DIEGO COSTA

Atletico Madrid president Enrico Cerezo has confirmed that his side are keen to take Diego Costa back from Chelsea after selling Jackson Martinez.

The Spaniards sanctioned, arguably, the most notable transfer of 2016 so far in allowing their Colombian signing to leave the club for Chinese giants Guangzhou Evergrande in a deal with around £32m earlier this week.

Martinez’s exit has left the La Liga side somewhat short up front, and reports have already indicated that they are looking to re-sign Costa after selling him to Chelsea in the summer of 2014.

And speaking to Cadena Cope, Atletico’s president, Cerezo, confirmed that the club are keen to explore a transfer: CEREZO en @deportescope : "Jackson no se adaptó. La operación a 3 bandas ha sido maravillosa para todos. Intentaremos traer a Diego Costa".

— elpartidodelas12 (@partidodelas12) February 4, 2016 Costa was a huge success at Chelsea in his debut season, with his goals a major factor in the Blues’ Premier League title success.

He has, however, struggled this term, albeit since the arrival of Guus Hiddink his form has increased.
